In the Bible we read about Balaam who was specially called by Balak the king of Moab to curse the Israelites. But we find that he could not curse them but every time instead of cursing he blessed them. In Numbers 23:7-8 he says, "And he took up his oracle and said: "Balak the king of Moab has brought me from Aram, From the mountains of the east. 'Come, curse Jacob for me, And come, denounce Israel!' How shall I curse whom God has not cursed? And how shall I denounce whom the LORD has not denounced?"
The Israelites whom God had chosen and brought out of the slavery and bondage of Egypt in order to bless them, here comes a man to mess up with God's purpose. At times some are so blind that they are unable to realize what they are doing, their minds being so much seared that they are not even afraid to fight against God. Balaam was also like one of them that though God had repeatedly spoken to him not to go nor curse the Israelites yet he went anyway.
But every time instead of cursing he blessed them. He himself says in Numbers 23:22-23, "God brings them (Israel) out of Egypt; He has strength like a wild ox. For there is no sorcery against Jacob, Nor any divination against Israel. It now must be said of Jacob And of Israel, 'Oh, what God has done!'"
A child of God is under the protection of God, a child of God whom God had redeemed out of the bondage of sins. Once they were in sin and were living in the bondage of sin but Jesus redeemed them when they accepted Him as their Lord and Savior. And the blood of Jesus covers them and protects them. If you are washed by the blood of Jesus, if you have given your life to Jesus, you need not to fear any of those curses which come from evil people.
Psalmist says in Psalms 91:3-10, "Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;"
God Himself will protect you and give you grace to come out of those dark moments in your life victoriously. He will not allow you to die nor will allow you to see destruction because you are a child of the Most High God. But look at the end of Balaam, what a tragic one that was? In Joshua 13:22 we read that he was killed by the sword.
Those who do bad things to others, those who want the destruction of others, they will bring curses on themselves by doing so. But if they repent and turn from their evil ways, they can see the blessings of God. Just by coming to Jesus, just by giving your life to Jesus and walking in His holy ways, you can see mighty things in your life. Not only that but He will also give you eternal life.
Have Courage to say NO!!

Bible tells us that the God of the Bible is holy God and He expects from us also that we should be holy as He is holy. But the question of the young as well as the old is: how to live a holy life? How can a person obtain that holy life?
When a person accept Jesus as his/her Lord and Savior, their past sins are forgiven and they receive a new life and still some of their habits do not change overnight. In some of the areas of their life they need to do more work to get rid of those sins. The more a person yield to the voice of Holy Spirit, the more that person can live a holy life.
In the Bible we read about David. David loved the Lord and walked in the ways of God. But when he saw a beautiful woman he fell in sin and committed adultery. He could not say no to his lust. He could not stand against the temptation and he fell in sin. The consequences were terrible. Yes, sin brings terrible things in our lives and destroys our lives.
But there was another young man named Joseph who faced a similar situation and yet he had the courage to say no to sin. He resisted the devil and fled from the scene. By doing that he held the blessings of God.
But if we go back and look at the root of all these things we can find that those battles start in the mind. It is up to us to either feed those thoughts or just have the courage to say no to sin. Once I heard the message of Bro. P.G. Vargis a renowned evangelist from India and in that message he said that he loved dance and performing arts. And though he came to Christ still he considered it as his weakness. But then he said that when he stays in hotel, the first thing he does is to unplug the TV so that he may not watch TV and fall in temptation.
At times we need to take bold steps to say no on the face of temptation. If you take a step by the help of Jesus, He will help you to live a holy life.
Apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,"
Bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ is the key. Before those thoughts bloom in full bloom kill it when it had just started. In David's case he fell because he looked with his eyes and allowed those things to build up in his mind. Some times people write and say, "I watch porn in internet and I am unable to come out of this habit... What should I do?" Have the courage to say no, my friend. If you are unable to do it, ask precious Holy Spirit to come and help you. And He will surely do it.
Another thing is to get victory over those thoughts as written in Colossians 3:1-3, "If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God."
We can see victory by setting our mind in God and His word. Psalmist also says in Psalms 119:9-11, "How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!"
Reading the word of God and meditating on His word will help to keep those bad thoughts away from our minds. You can live a holy life, it is not impossible. Jesus died on the cruel cross so that we could have a victorious life. He paid the ultimate price for our sins to be forgiven. He is ready to help. Just come at His feet and give your life to Him.
