While David was stationed at Ziklag, one time when he and his people came back after fighting for three days, they found that the Amalekites had invaded Ziklag and had taken with them all their belongings including their wives, children and whatever they had. Bible says in 1 Samuel 30:4, "Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep." Even the people were so upset that they were thinking to stone David. But David found his strength in God and when he inquired of the Lord, Lord told him to pursue the enemy.

So David and his four hundred men pursued after the enemy but two hundred men of them were so weary that they could not cross the Brook Besor. So David left them there and went further with the remaining. Further we read from the Bible, "Then they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David; and they gave him bread and he ate, and they let him drink water. And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs and two clusters of raisins. So when he had eaten, his strength came back to him; for he had eaten no bread nor drunk water for three days and three nights. Then David said to him, "To whom do you [belong], and where are you from?" And he said, "I am a young man from Egypt, servant of an Amalekite; and my master left me behind, because three days ago I fell sick, "We made an invasion of the southern area of the Cherethites, in the territory which belongs to Judah, and of the southern area of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire." And David said to him, "Can you take me down to this troop?" So he said, "Swear to me by God that you will neither kill me nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will take you down to this troop." And when he had brought him down, there they were, spread out over all the land, eating and drinking and dancing, because of all the great spoil which they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah. Then David attacked them from twilight until the evening of the next day. Not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men who rode on camels and fled. So David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away, and David rescued his two wives" (1Samuel 30:11-18).

God guided David and his men to reach their destination through one of their own enemies who led them to the right place. This man had become a channel for them to reach their destination without fail.

There was another man by name Joseph who was in prison for no reason with no hope of getting out of prison. But one day two of his fellow prisoners saw dreams. One of them was the Chief Butler of the king of Egypt and the other was Chief Baker of the king. Both were in prison because they had offended the king. "And Joseph came in to them in the morning and looked at them, and saw that they were sad. So he asked Pharaoh's officers who were with him in the custody of his lord's house, saying, "Why do you look so sad today?" Then the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, "Behold, in my dream a vine was before me, and in the vine were three branches; it was as though it budded, its blossoms shot forth, and its clusters brought forth ripe grapes. Then Pharaoh's cup was in my hand; and I took the grapes and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and placed the cup in Pharaoh's hand. And Joseph said to him, "This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days. Now within three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your place, and you will put Pharaoh's cup in his hand according to the former manner, when you were his butler. But remember me when it is well with you, and please show kindness to me; make mention of me to Pharaoh, and get me out of this house. For indeed I was stolen away from the land of the Hebrews; and also I have done nothing here that they should put me into the dungeon" (Genesis 40:6-15).

The dream's interpretation was exactly as Joseph told him. The Chief Butler was restored to his butlership again, and he placed the cup in Pharaoh's hand. Later this man became the channel to bring Joseph out of the dungeon.

Yes, my friend, if you give your life to Jesus, He will take care of you. He will bring the right people on your way so that you could reach your destination. He will never leave you in the half way but will guide you at every step of your way. If you have not yet given your life to Jesus, just come to Him, repent from your sins and accept Him as your Lord and Savior. I am sure, when you will do it, your life will never be the same again.

In the Bible we read how God communicated with His children time and time again. He spoke through visions and dreams. He spoke to people face to face and so on. We read in Num 12:6-8, Then He said, "Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream. Not so with My servant Moses; He is faithful in all My house. I speak with him face to face, Even plainly, and not in dark sayings; And he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid To speak against My servant Moses?"

If you are a born again child of God, if you have given your life to Jesus, He will communicate with you as well. Because God of the Bible is the prayer answering God, He is interested to speak with us and have fellowship with us.

I remember that in the 90's when we were doing a small ministry we had great burden for the perishing souls. The events which took place on those days and weeks before shook us badly. A prominent man threatened us saying, "I will make your home be sold and will bring you to the streets." I was frightened and never before in my life had I felt such urgency to knock at the doors of heaven. I knelt down beside my bed to pray in our covered verandah where we used to sleep in hot summer nights. Tears streaming down my cheeks I cried out to God. A few moments later God opened my eyes and I saw a vision so clear as if I was seeing it right before my eyes.

I could see the boundary wall of our house and the secure Iron Gate. A few moments later one saffron clad sadhu came to the gate and started opening the latch of the gate. He tried his best to open it but could not. As I was watching and wondering, why he could not open the gate as even a child could open it easily. When I was wondering, I saw Jesus in bright white cloths, standing inside the boundary wall putting both His hands on the latch of the gate. In a split second I knew why that person could not open the gate. It appears that when I saw Jesus and at the exact same time he also could have seen Jesus, and he was blown to pieces. I could see small fragments of saffron cloths scattered around our gate. The vision ended there but for many months I could not really understand the real meaning of it.

A few months later, one morning I woke up late and tea was already cold. I put my tea on stove to reheat it. While I was sipping my tea and chit-chatting with my brother and sister, my mother got very angry and said, "Because you woke up so late we have to do our family prayer very late in the morning.... are you coming or not? I am going for prayer in the prayer room." So saying she climbed up the stairs to go to the prayer room. When she climbed half way and looked outside from lattice, she saw a man who parked his bicycle in front of our gate and was walking up to three homes to the right side and three homes to the left side of our house.

My mother was shocked and ran to us and said, "Don't open the door, there is a man outside..." So we went upstairs and looked from the lattice and saw that he was still walking around our house. He made sure that no one was watching him and then he opened the gate and came inside. As soon as he came inside, my sister asked, "Who are you and whom do you want to meet?" The man was wonderstruck, looked towards the lattice and in confusion he could not speak anything. Then he mumbled something and left our house.

On that day we realized how close we came to death. Just one knock and we would have opened the door and it would have been the end of our stories, but God miraculously saved our lives. The vision became real for us. I can say that it was the first or second attempt to take away our lives or may be the first time we realized that our lives were in danger. But several similar attempts were made on consequent days, months and years. Yet God saved our lives in a very miraculous way. If God was not standing at our gate, we would have been destroyed at that time.

Since then hundreds came knocking at our door thinking to hurt us but every time our lives were miraculously spared because Jesus is still standing at the gate of our home protecting from all harms. All these years God has been our refuge and strength. He never allowed the enemy to take over and destroy our lives. He stood at that time by our gate and I believe, He is still standing to protect our lives from all evil and danger.

Yes, God can protect you more than any security system we may have in this world. Today you may be afraid of your safety but submit your lives to Jesus, He will take care of you and protect you and keep you secure. More than that if you give your life to Jesus, He will give you eternal security so that enemy may not drag you to hell. Would you give your life to Jesus today?
